New Stormblood Page Gives Brief History of Doma

Yesterday Square Enix published the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood - a brief history of Doma page. The page includes a writeup of the history of the Doma, a Japanese-inspired setting introduced in the Stormblood expansion back when it was first released in 2017.

It also includes a small Q&A with Lead Character Concept Artist Ayumi Namae about Yugiri’s design. Yugiri Mistwalker is a character originally introduced in the first expansion, A Realm Reborn, but she was always masked up until the second expansion’s events. Namae explains Yugiri’s face type was originally a design for an internal competition, and this design is what was ultimately used for Yugiri’s unmasked design in Stormblood.

The page also briefly summarizes major antagonists such as Zenos yae Galvus and Yotsuyu, both of whom are fairly iconic characters from that expansion. Zenos, in particula,r continues to play a major role in the events leading up to and during Endwalker.

Last week, Square Enix published a page introducing players to the city-state of Ala Mhigo. These pages are being published to celebrate the Stormblood expansion being a currently free addition to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition, an offer that ends on May 28. Typically the Online Starter Edition only includes A Realm Reborn and the first expansion, Heavensward. There may be further pages introducing other factions featured in Stormblood until the sale ends.
